Mass Effect 4?

I'll admit, I may have been a little late upon hearing this quizzical news. Nonetheless, and thanks to my sudden addiction to Inside Gaming Daily, I've been informed that Mass Effect 4 is in development. The question is, why? Why do we need another Mass Effect Game? I thought we ended it with ME3?
I never played ME3 all the way through, because it just didn't hold my attention like ME2 did. So, I'm interested in hearing ya'lls thoughts. Are you excited for Mass Effect 4?

ME4 is actually just the project title, it won't share the Mass Effect name, but rather universe and concepts. According to Bioware, it will mark a whole new trilogy with new characters entirely.
As for excitement. Only if they officially announce full customization on the PC including species.
